Congratulation to Brother Paulo Lui Voreqe, ss.cc.

Congratulations Brother Lui, ss.cc.

On Saturday, Sept. 24th, Fr. Alberto received the perpetual vows of Br. Paulo Lui Vorque, ss.cc. at Queen of Peace Church in Harlingen. Bishop Daniel E. Flores, Bishop of the Diocese of Brownsville, TX, was the main celebrant. Fr. Bob Charlton, ss.cc. masterfully served as MC at this very special mass. Br. Lui’s spiritual direcotr, Fr. Jeremiah, ss.cc. and Rev. Brother Eric Cruz, ss.cc. joined us from California.

Fr. Alberto emphasized brotherhood in his homily, reminding Br. Lui that his Fijian family and friends would call him saka (honored elder) as a sign of respect, but he should remember his brotherhood always. Fr. Alberto commented that Br. Lui’s laugh could be often heard across the Queen of Peace campus.

After the mass and perpetual vows, the parishioners put on a lovely reception with charming music. Br. Lui gracefull greeted and thanked parishioners and chose to sit next three members of the Daughters of Charity, Sr. Liz, Sr. Jean, and Sr. Carissa. How appropriate given our own order’s closeness to our sisters, and given the numerous sisters Br. Lui knew in Fiji, including Daughters of Charity sisters.
