Who is the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts?

Our History

The Congregation was born on Christmas Eve 1800 when Pierre Coudrin and Henriette Aymer de Chevalerie pronounced their vows. It grew out of their experiences during the French Revolution and a shared vision of a community of men and women sharing the message of God's unconditional love.

Our Mission
Our Mission

Our Mission, which has its origin in our consecration to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, is to contemplate, live and announce the love of God made flesh in the heart of Jesus. - Constitutions, Art 2

Our Call

To make the Kingdom of God present, we seek the transformation of the human heart and we endeavor to be agents of communion in the world. We work for a just and reconciled society. We are available to the needs and demands of the Church wherever we are sent. - Constitutions, Art 6
