Ministry Overview

The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary is an apostolic religious congregation. We live in community and from community life we carry out our mission to live, contemplate and proclaim the love of God. We accomplish this mission through pastoral, missionary, educational and social apostolic activities.

The province’s apostolic activity is primarily focused on parish ministry. We currently staff three parishes in the Diocese of Fall River, MA; two parishes in the Diocese of Brownsville, TX; and six parishes in the Diocese of Honolulu, HI. We also have a military chaplaincy in Hawaii through the Military Archdiocese.

The province’s education ministry encompasses the parochial schools that are connected to those parishes and a private elementary school in Honolulu. A member also teaches at the Pacific Regional Seminary in Suva, Fiji.

The National Center for Enthronement in Fairhaven, MA, is an important social ministry of the province. Additionally, we serve in two care home chaplaincies and a chaplaincy to a family food pantry in the Diocese of Fall River, MA. Various outreach programs based in our parishes are also components of our social ministry.
