Fr. Lui Voreqe, ss.cc. is new parish priest at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Tamavua, Suva, Fiji

From July 4^th, 2026.......

"Our community here at the Formation House joined the parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in welcoming our new Parish Priest, Fr. Paulo Lui Voreqe, ss.cc.

Fr. Lui has taken up the responsibility of leading the parish as he begins this new journey of walking together with the people of God. Today, he celebrated all three Sunday Masses and greeted everyone with a joyful spirit.

The parishioners warmly welcomed Fr. Lui with a traditional sevusevu ceremony in the parish hall. During his address, he invited the people “to walk alongside with me—not in front of me or behind me, but side by side.”

We, the Formation House community, together with all the parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, warmly welcome you and are truly happy to have you with us in your homeland, Fr. Lui Voreqe, ss.cc.

May God bless your ministry and grant you wisdom, strength, and joy as you shepherd His people."

We celebrate this a month later on Aug. 4th, the feast of St. Jean Vianney, patron of parish priests.   May Fr. Lui imitate this holy parish priest, the Curé of Ars, in his humility, warmth, prayerfulness, and love of his flock,  drawing more and more to the love of God.
