On July 5, 2023, Fr. Alfie McHugh, ss.cc. had a farewell celebration at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in New Bedford. He has retired as their chaplain. We the Sacred Hearts Fathers have been serving the nursing homes for more than 100 years. The celebration included the residents and staff of Sacred Hearts Home, invited ss.cc. brothers and Fr. Derek Laverty, Vicar General of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
